Where the cross-linked heavy wall earns its weight

Cross-linked polyethylene is the wall for chemistry that attacks or softens a linear wall and for liquids that arrive warm, and the heavy duty rating adds density. Buy this one when all three apply; buy a linear polyethylene heavy duty tank when the liquid is dense but cool and benign. What to check before you buy

1. The liquid, its density and its temperature. 1.9 and 140 F are limits. Write all three next to the liquid's name on the wall, and tell us before you order if either is close.
2. The outlet. This page lists the manway, not a bottom fitting. Tell us the liquid and the draw-off arrangement and we will confirm what this tank accepts, in what material and with what gasket, before anything is drilled. Under 234 inches of dense liquid the base fitting sits on its own support off the pad with a flexible connector to hard pipe.
3. The manway. 18 inch threaded and vented, 234 inches above the pad: a fixed platform with a rail and a gate or a caged ladder to a landing, a permanent fill line landed at the manway, a dip tube to the floor, and the vent run outdoors on anything that fumes.
