Cross-linked polyethylene handles chemistry and heat that soften or attack a linear wall, and the 140 F service limit is the practical reason to choose it. The 1.5 rating keeps it to liquids no heavier than 1.5 times water: warm process solutions, treatment chemicals that need the resin, warm wash water held in bulk. If the liquid is also dense, the 1.9 rated cross-linked tank in this size is the right buy: part 5370000N48 in black or part 5370000N42 in natural white. The same standard rated tank in natural white is part 5370000N40. A rotationally moulded floor bears on its whole floor, so 187,650 lb lands on the 142 inch circle; engineer the slab to our concrete pad sizing guide, level and in full contact, inside containment sized to the tank where the liquid is regulated. What to check before you buy

1. The liquid and its temperature. 1.5 and 140 F are limits. Write both next to the liquid's name on the wall, and tell us before you order if either is close.
2. The outlet. This page lists the manway, not a bottom fitting. Tell us the liquid and the draw-off you need and we will confirm what this tank accepts before anything is cut. The base fitting sits on its own support off the pad with a flexible connector to hard pipe.
3. The manway. 18 inch threaded and vented, 234 inches above the pad: a fixed platform with a rail and a gate or a caged ladder to a landing, a permanent fill line landed at the manway, a dip tube to the floor, and the vent run outdoors on anything that fumes.

The tank ships at freight class 300, 142 by 142 by 234 inches, 4,400 lb, from Snyder's plant at Lincoln, Nebraska, on an open deck as a permitted wide load. Unload with a crane or a heavy forklift, straps under the body, never a sling through the manway. Check the part number against 5370000N46 on the bill of lading. Fill it with cold water to the manway before anything warm goes in and walk the base and the containment floor while it holds.
