The smallest footprint that still holds 330

The buyer has a bunded tray, a closet, a skid deck or a spare corner measured in inches, and needs 330 gallons of a dark-stored liquid in it. A 44 inch circle fits a containment tray that a wider shell overhangs, fits between a wall and a pump skid, and fits on a trailer deck or a service body with room to strap it. Eighty pounds empty is part of the same story: two people carry it through a door, which a heavier shell does not allow. At 58 inches the lid is at chest height for tote transfers. What the small footprint does not buy is a break on the ground. Plain water is 2,752 lb and the rating allows up to 5,229 lb, all on a 44 inch circle, because a rotomolded floor bears on its whole area; concentrating that load on the smallest circle in the family makes the slab more important, not less. It is engineered per our concrete pad sizing guide, level and in full contact, inside a berm sized to the tank where the liquid is regulated, and a containment tray is not a substitute for a level bearing surface. Restrain it too: a light tank on a small base is the easiest thing on the pad to knock over with a pallet.

A transfer pump on the lightest 330 in the family

1. Pump. No bottom fitting is listed on this tank, so the pump draws over the rim through a drop pipe with a foot valve and a strainer, and it sits on its own base on the floor rather than on the tank or the tray. On a light tank this matters twice over: a pump bolted to anything the tank touches will walk the tank. 2. Run-dry protection. A level switch above the floor, stopping the pump before the drop pipe sucks air. In a small tank the last inches disappear in a minute at transfer flow.
3. Manway. One 18 inch threaded vented manway at 58 inches, the easiest lid in this family to work at. Fill through a dip tube to the floor to stop foaming, and vent outdoors on anything that fumes, sized to the filling pump.

The 330 gallon tanks, by footprint

The wider, lower 330 is the 330 gallon ASTM XLPE heavy duty tank 1008200N42, also made as the 330 gallon black heavy duty tank 1008200C34 and the 330 gallon heavy duty tank 1008200C26, each rated on its own page; those are the tanks when the ceiling is the constraint. This one is the buy when the tray, the aisle or the door is the constraint instead. Past it in both directions the volume changes with the shape: the 300 gallon heavy duty tank 1011200C26 is narrower and taller, and the 360 gallon ASTM XLPE heavy duty tank 5760100N42 is wider and low.

Shipping and receiving

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from Snyder's plant at Philippi, WV, 44 by 44 by 58 inches on a pallet at 80 lb. The freight cost estimator gives the lane cost to your ZIP. At the tailgate, check the part number against 1011600N48 on the bill of lading, walk the wall and the manway threads for transit damage before signing, and fill it with water the first time before it carries anything else. Make the fill and suction lines long enough to be disconnected rather than pulled, and put freeze protection on the suction line and the first valve, never on the body.
