Under a canopy: the wide base that keeps the top low

The site argument here is headroom, and 59 inches settles it. The shell stops below shoulder height on most people, so the manway is opened standing on the pad with a hand on the rim, and the tank fits under a canopy, a greenhouse gutter, a truck-bed frame or a joist ceiling that a taller shell would not clear with its vent and fill line above it. The white wall reads the level in daylight, which is the everyday advantage over the black version; the black one is the answer when the liquid minds light. What you pay for the low top is floor: a 53 inch circle does not pass a standard doorway, so the route in gets measured first, and the pad has to be a real slab rather than a patch. Plain water puts 3,002 lb inside this shell and the rating allows up to 5,705 lb, all bearing on the 53 inch circle, because a rotomolded floor carries on its whole floor. Pour it per our concrete pad sizing guide, level and in full contact, inside a berm sized to the tank where the liquid is regulated. Strap it anyway: a wide, low, empty tank at 116 lb is exactly the tank nobody bands.

One opening, and what goes through it

1. Outlet. No bottom fitting is listed on this tank. Name the liquid, the temperature it runs at and the draw-off arrangement you want when you order, and we will confirm with Snyder what this moulding accepts, in what material, before anything is cut.
2. Manway. One 18 inch threaded vented manway at 59 inches, the one real convenience of the low shell. It is reached from the pad, so cleaning with a wand, dropping a probe and changing a gasket are one-person jobs that need no platform.
3. Fill. A permanent connection landed at the manway, and a dip tube to the floor so the stream does not cascade and aerate the liquid on the way down.
4. Vent. Run outdoors on anything that fumes, sized to the delivery pump rather than the port, and inspected every time the lid is off.

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from Snyder's plant at Marked Tree, AR, 53 by 53 by 59 inches on a pallet at 116 lb. The freight cost estimator gives the lane cost to your ZIP. At the tailgate, check the part number against 5760100N42 on the bill of lading, walk the wall and the manway threads for transit damage before signing, and fill it with water the first time before it carries anything else. An opening at 59 inches gets used, so thread it shut every time. Anything plumbed at the base sits on its own stand off the pad with a flexible connector to hard pipe; freeze protection goes on that piping, not the body.
