Where this tank earns its keep

A white crosslinked 290 goes where somebody has to know the level at a glance: a metered chemical feed in a water or wastewater building, a plating or anodising line with a makeup tank beside it, a food plant sanitiser station, a pilot plant holding vessel, a greenhouse feed tank the grower walks past ten times a day. On site the column is the thing to plan around. Full, the whole load bears on a 36 inch circle, and six feet of liquid standing over that footprint is a concentrated load for a floor poured for foot traffic; a new pad follows the concrete pad sizing guide, level and in full contact, inside containment sized to the tank where the liquid is regulated. Openings and what to confirm before you buy

1. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top, 72 inches up, above a person's reach standing flat. Plan a short platform ladder that leans on structure, or a permanent fill line landed at the lid.
2. Outlet. The manway is the only opening listed for this tank. Tell us the liquid and the draw-off you want when you order and we will confirm what can be fitted before anything is cut.
3. Vent and fill. A dip tube to the floor matters more here than on a short tank, because a stream falling six feet inside a narrow shell foams and splashes the headspace. Pipe the vent outdoors on anything that fumes and size it to the delivery pump.

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from Snyder's plant in Philippi, WV, 36 by 36 by 72 inches and 80 lb on the pallet. It rides upright and prices on the space it occupies, so put your ZIP into the freight cost estimator before you order. Eighty pounds at six feet is an awkward carry rather than a heavy one: two people or a hand truck with the tank strapped to the frame, hands under the base, never a sling through the manway. Check the part number against 1013000N42 on the bill of lading. Set it where it is going to live, brace it, then fill it with water to the manway and leave it standing; the hydrostatic test methodology article gives the hold time; on a tall, narrow tank watch the base edge and whether the rim has gone out of level. Drain and dry it before the chemical arrives.
