The duty that wants height instead of floor

This tank is bought by an operation that has run out of floor. What is left is a 47 inch circle in a corner and all the air above it, and this is the 330 that uses the air: a standing supply for a metering pump, refilled from totes or a partial load. Height buys liquid above the pump, which keeps a suction line full further into the load than a short shell can. Height also costs something. Full of water the tank carries 2,752 lb and at the rating up to 5,229 lb, all bearing on a 47 inch circle, because a rotomolded floor carries on the whole floor and on nothing else; the pad is engineered per our concrete pad sizing guide, level and in full contact, inside a berm sized to the tank wherever the liquid is regulated. Nearly six feet of empty tank at 108 lb is top-heavy enough to walk in a draft, so it is strapped to structure before the first fill and the restraint is checked after the first month.

Priming a pump under nearly six feet of head

1. Pump. No bottom fitting is listed on this tank, so the draw comes over the rim: a suction pipe through the lid to the floor with a foot valve and strainer, and a self-priming pump on its own base beside the tank. The height of this shell is the friend here, because the standing liquid keeps the suction leg full for most of the load. 2. Run-dry protection. A level switch set above the floor, wired to stop the pump. The last few inches of a tall tank go fast.
3. Manway. One 18 inch threaded vented manway at 68 inches, above eye level for most people, so a step or a small platform. Fill down a dip tube to the floor so the stream does not free-fall and foam, and vent outdoors on a fuming liquid with the vent sized to the pump doing the filling.

Three shapes for 330 gallons, and where this one sits

The low 330 on a similar footprint is the 330 gallon ASTM XLPE heavy duty tank 1008200N42, also made as the 330 gallon black heavy duty tank 1008200C34 and the 330 gallon heavy duty tank 1008200C26, each rated on its own page; those are the tanks for a room with a low ceiling and floor to spare. This one stacks the same gallons higher for a room with ceiling, no floor, and a pump that wants head. Go further either way and the footprint changes with it: the 300 gallon heavy duty tank 1011200C26 is the narrow tall one, and the 360 gallon ASTM XLPE heavy duty tank 5760100N42 is the wide low one. On most crowded chemical pads the middle shape is the one that fits.

Shipping and receiving

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from Snyder's plant at Marked Tree, AR, 47 by 47 by 68 inches on a pallet at 108 lb. The freight cost estimator gives the lane cost to your ZIP. At the tailgate, check the part number against 5750100N48 on the bill of lading, walk the wall and the manway threads for transit damage before signing, and fill it with water the first time before it carries anything else.
