Where a 35 gallon contained tank makes sense

This is a solution tank, not a storage tank. At 22 inches across and 36 inches tall it sits beside a metering pump on a shelf, a skid or the floor of a pump house, and it is light enough empty for one person to carry. The jobs it does are the small, steady doses: chlorine at a private well or a small water system, a pH adjuster for a pool or spa, an inhibitor or biocide for a cooling tower or a closed loop, a nutrient or cleaning chemical on a greenhouse or dairy line. The point of the double wall at this size is the room it sits in. A single wall drum or solution tank that splits puts its contents on the floor; the outer tank here keeps a leak from the inner wall in the tank. Black keeps light off liquids that break down in it. What to check before you buy

1. Lid. The 6 inch threaded vented lid is the fill and the access. It is wide enough for a funnel, a foot valve on a suction tube and a small level switch; plan your tubing to share it. Keep the vent open so the pump does not draw a vacuum.
2. Outlet. No outlet size is listed for this part number. Small feed tanks usually draw from the top. If you need a bottom fitting, tell us the size and we confirm it with Snyder. The drawing linked under Technical Drawing on this page shows the tank.
3. Volume. Leave headroom below the lid; the Snyder double wall freeboard note explains why. Use the tank sizing calculator to check how many days a fill lasts at your dose.
4. The space between the walls. Glance at it whenever you refill. Liquid there means the inner wall needs attention.
