The Snyder Industries 60 gallon sodium hypochlorite (UV) double wall tank, part number 5680002N52, is a small bleach tank with its own containment: an inner tank holds the liquid and a moulded outer tank around it catches a leak. It is Snyder's high density linear polyethylene, resin number 880059, in opaque white, 26 inches in diameter and 41 inches tall, and weighs 55 lb empty. Snyder rates the wall for liquids up to 1.9 specific gravity; 60 gallons of water weighs about 500 lb, and at the full rating the contents reach about 951 lb. On top is a 14 inch threaded vented lid. The service limit is 120 F (48 C). It carries a 3 year warranty.

A bleach day tank that keeps a leak off the floor
Snyder names this tank for sodium hypochlorite and marks it UV in the name; we repeat both and add nothing. At 60 gallons it is a solution or day tank, sized to sit beside a chlorine feed pump at a private well, a small community water system, a pool or spa plant room, a dairy or a food plant's sanitation station. Bleach is hard on a pump room: a leak stains the floor, corrodes nearby steel and gives off chlorine. The outer wall keeps a leak from the inner tank in the tank. At 26 inches across it fits next to the pump on a small footprint, and at 41 inches tall the lid is at about waist height for topping up from a carboy or drum. What to check before you buy
- Lid. The 14 inch threaded vented lid is wide enough for a fill funnel, a suction tube with foot valve and a low level switch together. Keep the vent open; hypochlorite off-gasses, so vent the room too.
