The Snyder Industries 35 Gallon XLPE Vertical Double Wall Liquid Chemical Storage Tank in white is built for active chemical service, not water storage. It is molded from cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) and carries a 1.9 specific gravity rating, so it is engineered to hold dense, aggressive liquids that would over-stress a standard polyethylene tank. The double-wall construction wraps the primary vessel in a built-in secondary containment shell sized to capture the inner tank's contents if the primary ever leaks, which is the configuration most operators reach for when one tank has to satisfy SPCC-style containment on a small footprint. Standing 36 inches tall on a 22 x 22 inch footprint, this 35 gallon vertical storage tank fits into tight equipment rooms, skid packages, and dosing stations where floor space is scarce.

Will it work for your application?

The tank ships configured with a 6" threaded/vented fitting and a cap with a 4-1/2" access opening (see the technical drawing on this page for the exact fitting layout). Filled with water for a leak test it carries 292 lb, but at its 1.9 SG rating the tank is built to hold up to 555 lb of contents, so size your stand, anchoring, and floor loading to that 555 lb worst case rather than the lighter water figure. Run your chemical and fill height through the Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide so you plan for usable volume and freeboard, not just nameplate capacity. Because this is a double wall tank, factor in the freeboard chemistry covered in our Captor double-wall freeboard sizing guide, and review the SPCC 40 CFR 112 compliance walkthrough if containment is your driver.

Chemical compatibility

The tank wall is XLPE rated to 1.9 specific gravity, which is why it handles the denser chemistries below. Always confirm against the manufacturer's chemical-resistance chart, which is concentration- and temperature-specific. One thing to plan for up front: the 6" threaded/vented fitting and access cap the tank ships with are not the wetted process fittings the chemistry calls for, so the fitting and gasket materials below are a separate spec you configure for your chemical:

Read the gasket call-outs carefully: most of these run EPDM, but hydrofluosilicic acid wants Viton, and DEF (32.5%) and propylene glycol pull toward stainless fittings. Matching the wetted fitting and gasket material to the chemical is the single most common mistake on a chemical tank install. Cross-reference the full Chemical Compatibility Database for the chemistry you are running, and where instrumentation matters, our level gauge selection and spillover redundancy guides walk through alarm and cutoff design for double-wall service.

Freight

This tank ships LTL freight from the Snyder plant in Marked Tree, Arkansas, with the rate quoted live to your ZIP code. Get an exact freight estimate with our Freight Cost Estimator, or call 866-418-1777 and we will quote it for you and confirm the right fitting and gasket package for your chemistry before it leaves the dock.
