A day tank under something

The buyer here is almost always working under a fixed ceiling: a feed room in a dairy or a hog barn with joists at head height, a wash bay with a pipe rack above it, a chemical closet in a municipal building, a nursery head house with a mezzanine over the mix station. A tank just under five feet tall gives a person room to open the lid, look inside and close it without a ladder, and the manway at 59 inches is the working surface of this product. Three hundred and sixty gallons is a partial load on a straight truck or a transfer from totes, done with the operator standing beside the tank. On the ground, plain water is 3,002 lb and the rating allows up to 5,705 lb, all bearing on a 53 inch circle, because a rotomolded floor carries on the whole floor. Spread across the wider circle it is a gentler bearing pressure than the narrow shells put down, but a low corner under a wide tank takes the whole load, so the pad is engineered per our concrete pad sizing guide, level and in full contact, inside a berm sized to the tank where the liquid is regulated. Strap it anyway: the tank is light empty, and a barn door on a windy day moves more than people expect.

Pump suction on a tank with no bottom fitting listed

1. Pump. No bottom fitting is listed on this tank, so plan the pump on that basis: a suction line dropped through the lid to the floor with a foot valve and a strainer, feeding a self-priming pump on its own base beside the tank. It never puts a hole below the liquid line. Tell us the liquid and the draw-off you want at order and we will confirm what Snyder fits to this moulding before anything is drilled.
2. Run-dry protection. A level switch that stops the pump above the floor. A drop pipe loses prime the moment the liquid falls below its inlet.
3. Manway. One 18 inch threaded vented manway at 59 inches, at working height. Fill down a dip tube to the floor to keep the stream from foaming, and vent outdoors on anything that fumes, sized to the filling pump.

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from Snyder's plant at Marked Tree, AR, 53 by 53 by 59 inches on a pallet at 116 lb. The freight cost estimator gives the lane cost to your ZIP. At the tailgate, check the part number against 5760100N48 on the bill of lading, walk the wall and the manway threads for transit damage before signing, and fill it with water the first time before it carries anything else. Freeze protection goes on the suction line and the first valve rather than the body.
