Containment without paying for wall you will not use

Most of the liquids that go into a contained tank are not dense: sodium hypochlorite at a water plant, a fertilizer solution at an ag retailer, a dilute process chemical in a plant room with a floor drain. For those a 1.5 rating is the right amount of tank, and this part number is the lighter buy on the 102 inch footprint. A coagulant, a strong acid or a brine heavier than 1.5 times water goes in the 1.9 version of the same shell instead; name the product and we will say which. The second wall is bought for the floor rather than the liquid: a treatment building that drains to the works, a room over an occupied space, a yard that drains to a ditch. It arrives as one piece on one footprint instead of a poured berm, and it needs a look between the walls on a schedule from week one. The slab is flat, level and continuous across the whole 102 inch base, built for up to 50,040 lb. Openings, fittings and the space between the walls

1. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway at 178 inches: fill, inspection and cleaning route in one, and high enough that a fixed ladder, a platform and fall protection are part of the job. Keep the vent clear and screened.
2. Outlet and pump. Tell us the liquid, the line size and the pump at order and we will confirm which fittings this part number ships with and match the gasket and bolting to it. A black wall shows no level, so fit a low level cut-out on the pump.

Lift under the base, never by the manway, set it on the cured slab before any pipe is connected, fill it with water and hold the load while you read the base and the manway seal, then drain and look between the walls before the working liquid goes in.
