When the roof is low and the liquid is heavy

This tank goes out rather than up: 142 inches across and 102 inches tall, so it fits under a pump house eave, a shed roof or an existing low bay where a tall column will not stand. The 1.9 rating is what makes it the right buy when the liquid is also dense. Outdoors, a low tank catches less wind and the manway is reached from a short platform. The cost of the shape is floor area. A rotationally moulded tank bears on its whole floor, so the pad under a 142 inch circle has to be level and in full contact everywhere; a low corner turns the load into a point load. What to check before you buy

1. The liquid. Check it against polyethylene in our chemical compatibility guide. If it is heavier than 1.9 times water or runs above 120 F in service, tell us; that is a different tank.
2. The outlet. This page lists the manway, not a bottom fitting. Tell us the liquid and the pipe you are tying into and we will confirm what this tank takes before anything is drilled. A wide, low tank has little head over a base fitting, so mount the transfer pump below the outlet and keep the suction run short.
3. The manway. 18 inch threaded and vented on the crown. The vent has to pass air as fast as the fill pump pushes liquid in, so keep it clear and run it outdoors if the liquid fumes.

At 142 inches across it is wider than a standard trailer, so it moves as an oversize load and the route to the pad matters: walk the gate, the doorway and any overhead lines before the truck is booked.
