The molded-in fittings package includes a flange outlet, an 18-inch polyethylene threaded and vented lid, and a manway with a 15-inch access opening sized for interior cleanout and inspection. Two molded fitting flats, at 171.5 and 261.5 degrees, give you flat, drillable pads for a level gauge or sensor mount, so orient the tank with those flats facing your instrumentation runs. XLPE, and the mistake to avoid
The single most common misstep on a tank this large is treating XLPE and HDPE as interchangeable. Crosslinked polyethylene is a thermoset wall with better impact and stress-crack resistance, but it cannot be field-welded or modified the way linear HDPE can, so plan every penetration through the factory fittings above rather than cutting the shell later.
