Where it goes

This is a day tank or a feed tank: a water plant or a well house feeding hypochlorite, a boiler room feeding treatment chemical, a cooling tower, a car wash, a food plant feeding sanitizer, or a process line where a metering pump draws from a small tank that is refilled from drums or totes. The square 24 by 24 inch plan sits flat against a wall or in a corner with a pump mounted beside it, and at 43 inches tall the lid is at working height for filling by hand or from a transfer pump. Crosslinked polyethylene is the wall Snyder uses for its chemical duty tanks, and the double wall is what lets a chemical tank sit indoors without a separate containment basin. What to check before you buy

1. The lid. An 8 inch threaded vented lid on top. It takes a fill from a hose or a transfer pump and a suction line for the metering pump. Keep the vent clear; a chemical that gives off gas needs it, and a sealed tank pumping down pulls a vacuum.
2. The outlet. No outlet fitting is listed on this tank. Most chemical feed installs draw through the lid with a suction tube so there is no penetration through the inner wall below the liquid level; if you want a bottom drain or a sidewall fitting through both walls, tell us and we confirm with Snyder what the tank takes.
3. The chemical. Rated to 1.9 specific gravity and 120 F. Check the concentration you actually feed, not the stock chemical, against polyethylene.
4. Level indication. The black wall hides the level. Plan a level sensor, a sight tube or a scale under the tank if the pump cannot be allowed to run dry.
