The 300 Gallon Doorway Water Tank (N-44960) from Norwesco measures 25 inches wide by 65 inches tall - sized so the narrow 25" footprint passes through a standard 24" doorway and stands upright inside basements, utility rooms, well houses, and other tight installs where a wider vertical tank simply will not fit. It holds 300 gallons of water, is molded from polyethylene, and carries a 1.5 specific gravity rating, giving you headroom for water and other contents up to that density.

Will it work for your install?

The narrow footprint is the whole point of this doorway tank: 25" wide clears a typical 24" door opening, and the real number to check is the 65" standing height - budget headroom above that 65" for the top fitting and fill access so you can actually plumb and top off the tank in place. Full of water it weighs about 2,502 pounds, and at its maximum 1.5 specific gravity rating it can carry contents up to roughly 3,753 pounds. Across the roughly 25"-wide base, that works out to bearing pressure in the range of 735 pounds per square foot full of water, climbing toward 1,100 pounds per square foot at the maximum rating - numbers worth handing to whoever pours your pad. Set it on a level, fully supported concrete pad or equivalent surface rated for that load. Run your stored volume through our Tank Sizing Calculator and the Tank Sizing Guide before you commit. For the full breakdown on this exact size, see the 300 Gallon Doorway Water Tank (25" x 65") buyer's guide. The fitting layout, dimensions, and capacity callouts are detailed in the technical drawing on this page - confirm the inlet, outlet, and lid positions there before you finalize your plumbing.

Which doorway tank are you on?

This is the 25"-wide by 65"-tall White unit - the tallest, narrowest 300 gallon doorway option, best when you are fighting a tight width but have ceiling height to spare. If you have a wider opening or a lower ceiling, the shorter, wider 29" x 50" versions hold the same 300 gallons in a stouter shape: see the 29" x 50" White or 29" x 50" Natural White guides to compare footprints before you buy and avoid a wrong-fit return.

The mistake to avoid

Two things trip people up on doorway tanks. First, the 1.5 specific gravity rating is the contents-density limit, not a license to store any liquid - this tank is listed for water service, so do not assume it is rated for heavier chemicals without confirming the application. Second, do not underestimate the weight: at 2,502 pounds full, this is not a tank you slide into place after filling. Set it empty, on a flat supported base, and plumb your inlet and outlet before adding water. Tall, narrow tanks are also more sensitive to an uneven base than squat ones, so a true, level pad matters more here than on a low-profile tank.

Freight

This tank fulfills from Norwesco's West Coast plants - Hanford, CA; Tooele, UT; or Washougal, WA - and ships LTL freight, quoted live to your ZIP from the nearest of those locations. Buyers far to the east should expect higher LTL on a tank this size, so price it before checkout rather than after: get an exact number with our Freight Cost Estimator or call us at 866-418-1777 and we will quote it for you. If you are storing water for emergency or rural fire-protection use, our guide on fire-water reservoir tank design covers sizing and freeze protection for cold-climate sites.
