5000 gallons on a 102 inch circle
This tank holds 5000 gallons on a base just 102 inches across by standing 154 inches tall, close to thirteen feet. It is the shape for a plant yard, a farm chemical pad or a water system site where the ground is the scarce thing and nothing overhead is in the way. The tall column also gives the outlet good head, which helps a gravity feed and keeps a transfer pump primed.
The 1.5 rating covers water, liquid fertilizer and many water treatment and process liquids. Full of water the tank holds 41,700 lb (5000 x 8.34); at the full rating, 62,550 lb (5000 x 1.5 x 8.34). If a heavier liquid could go in, choose a higher-rated wall. The 120 F limit matters for tanks in full sun and for liquids that arrive warm. Check the liquid in our chemical compatibility guide, and compare the shapes at this size in our 5000 gallon storage tank buyer's guide. For a water reserve, the fire water reservoir guide covers sizing and freeze protection.
Openings and what to check before you buy
- Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting near the floor. Keep the valve and hose at 3 inch, support the valve on its own, and use a flexible connector to rigid pipe.
- Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top, 154 inches up. Plan a fixed ladder or a fill line from the ground.
- Fill and vent. A pumped fill needs a vent that keeps up with it. Tell us how the tank is filled and we will confirm what can be added.
- Pad and anchoring. 41,700 lb of water on a 102 inch circle needs a level, solid pad wider than the base. A tall tank catches wind when it is empty; anchor it.
- Drawing. The drawing on this page is Snyder's drawing for the black version of this tank (1002100C37). Ask us to confirm fitting positions.
