A broad tank for a bulk load
At 120 inches across and 132 inches tall, this tank stands only a foot taller than it is wide, so it holds 6000 gallons without towering over a building, and the manway stays reachable from a fixed ladder. It is the size a farm cooperative, a turf or golf operation, or a small water system picks for liquid fertilizer, water treatment chemical, process water or a water reserve. Full of water it holds 50,040 lb (6000 x 8.34); at the full 1.5 rating, 75,060 lb (6000 x 1.5 x 8.34). Foundation, openings and what to confirm
- Pad. 50,040 lb of water on a 120 inch circle needs a level concrete pad wider than the base, with no low edge. Our concrete pad sizing guide lays out the framework.
- Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting. Use a flexible connector to rigid pipe and support the valve on its own; a full tank settles a little and the fitting should not carry the pipe.
- Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top, for inspection and a level sensor.
- Fill and vent. Tell us how the tank will be filled and we will confirm what can be added for a fill line and a vent sized to the truck pump.
