6,000 gallons at eleven feet, the light black one, rated 1.5

Eleven feet to the manway and 1,050 pounds on the forks: the Snyder 7000000C37-BLACK is the lowest and the lightest way Snyder puts 6,000 gallons on a ten foot base. It is 120 inches across and 132 inches tall, a black polyethylene tank rated for a specific gravity of 1.5 on the sheet, or 75,060 pounds of contents against 50,040 pounds for water, with a black resin that keeps sunlight off the load. An 18 inch threaded, vented manway, a 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead outlet, a 3 year warranty, and freight at class 400 from Lincoln, Nebraska or Philippi, West Virginia.

Eleven feet under the eave, and the least strap of the 6,000s

Under a twelve foot eave with a vent line still to route, eleven feet is the height that works, and among the 6,000 gallon tanks this is the one that gives it. The low shape has the lowest center of gravity in the group and the least wall for the wind to push, so the strapping is lighter than the tall tanks need, though it still goes on before the first fill, because a black tank grows a little in the sun every day and the empty tank between deliveries is the one the wind moves. Full at the rating it puts 75,060 pounds on a 120 inch circle, and a rotationally molded floor bears on all of it, so the slab is engineered per the concrete pad sizing guide, level and in full contact, inside a berm sized to the tank where the liquid is regulated. Black polyethylene absorbs the ultraviolet that ages a white wall and passes no light to the liquid; it runs warmer than white in the sun, so shade if the chemical must stay cool, and it hides the level, so a sender read at the ground is the gauge. Use the tank sizing calculator to confirm 6,000 gallons against the feed rate and the delivery interval, then the tank sizing guide for the reserve and the freeboard a liquid needs as it warms.

The 120 x 132 inch shell, and the 6,000s around it

The C34 is the other black tank in this shell, at the same weight, with a heavier rating on its own sheet; this one is the buy for a light-sensitive liquid no heavier than 1.5. The 7140300N40 and N42 hold the same 6,000 gallons on the same base a foot taller, at 145 inches and 1,500 pounds, in the other chemical walls. The 5250000N40 lays 5,600 gallons down to 102 inches on a 142 inch base when even eleven feet is too much, and the 8220000C34 is a black 6,200 at 140 inches for a bay with the extra eight inches.

3 inch bulkhead, eleven feet of liquid

  • Outlet: 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, at the base. Tell us the liquid at order and the fitting is matched to it, with a flanged transition, a flexible connector to hard pipe, and the first valve supported off the pad.
  • Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway, 132 inches up; a platform or a fixed ladder with a rail for anyone who opens it; a dip tube to the floor for the fill; a vent run outdoors on a liquid that fumes and sized to the delivery pump.
  • Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.

A 3 inch outlet drains eleven feet of liquid in a working shift and holds a transfer pump flooded to the last few inches, and because the head is lower here than on the tall 6,000s, the pump sits below the outlet, where gravity primes it, with a low-level float to stop it before it draws air. The manway is close enough to the ground that people open it more than they should; keep the lid on between deliveries so vapor stays in and rain stays out, put the chemical's name on the wall, and inspect the headspace band with a light instead of a hand. Where it freezes, the outlet valve and the first pipe run get trace heat or insulation; the body takes ice from the top down without harm.

Two plants, a low roof, one chemical

Hypochlorite at a water plant whose chemical room was built low, a fertilizer solution at a co-op under a shed, and a process chemical at a plant that stores in the sun and wants it dark. When site rules demand a second wall, the Captor double wall freeboard guide works out what a contained tank at this size gives up in usable volume. A fire reserve belongs in a water-rated tank; the fire-water reservoir design guide covers why a chemical wall is the wrong buy for that job. For a reuse train, the industrial water reuse tank topology article places a chemical tank of this size between the storage stages.

Lincoln or Philippi at class 400

The 7000000C37-BLACK ships from Lincoln, Nebraska or Philippi, West Virginia, whichever is nearer, as freight at class 400 as the sheet lists it; at 120 inches across and 132 inches long on the deck it is a permitted load, and the freight cost estimator prices the lane to your ZIP, with the listed price before freight. A forklift with long forks or a crane sets 1,050 pounds on the pad with straps under the body, never through the manway. Water first: fill it to the manway, hold it, watch the pad edge and the outlet fitting, then drain and dry before the chemical goes in, and watch the first delivery from the first gallon to the last. Note the pad height and the outlet height on the site plan while the tape is out; the next pipe run will need both.
