6,000 gallons on a 102 inch base with a 3 inch outlet
The Snyder 7430000C26 is a white polyethylene vertical liquid storage tank, 102 inches across and 188 inches tall, holding 6,000 gallons at 1,450 pounds. Its wall is rated on the spec sheet for a specific gravity of 1.9, or 95,076 pounds of contents against 50,040 for water, it comes with a 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting already in the wall, and the eight and a half foot base puts a tanker load and a reserve on a pad smaller than the tanker, fifteen and a half feet up. It comes with an 18 inch threaded, vented manway and a 3 year warranty, and it leaves the plant as oversize freight.

A tanker and a reserve, with the outlet already in
Six thousand gallons takes a tanker and leaves a working reserve, and the 3 inch fitting is the outlet a fire pump or a transfer pump wants, already in the wall so a valve threads in and the tank goes to work the day it lands. Rotationally molded polyethylene tanks are sized to ASTM D1998, and the sheet rates this wall for liquids nearly twice as dense as water, so brine and coagulant are covered as well as water. Full, it puts 95,076 pounds on a 102 inch circle at the rating: an engineered slab in full contact under the whole floor, per the concrete pad sizing guide, with the empty tank strapped against wind at two heights and the manway reached from a fixed platform with a rail, never a ladder. The 6,000 gallon vertical tank buyers guide compares the shapes at this volume across makers; the tank sizing calculator tells you whether 6,000 gallons covers the draw, and the tank sizing guide covers days of supply.
The 102 x 188 inch tanks, and the sizes beside them
| Part | Gallons | Diameter x height | Empty weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7430000C26 (this tank, 3 inch fitting) | 6,000 | 102 x 188 in | 1,450 lb |
| 7430000C37 (3 inch fitting) | 6,000 | 102 x 188 in | 1,650 lb |
| WV90 (water) | 6,000 | 102 x 188 in | 1,595 lb |
| 7140300N40 (ten foot base, XLPE) | 6,000 | 120 x 145 in | 1,500 lb |
| 7000000C34 (ten foot base) | 6,000 | 120 x 132 in | 1,050 lb |
| 7000000C37-BLACK (ten foot base, black) | 6,000 | 120 x 132 in | 1,050 lb |
| 8220000C34 (ten foot base) | 6,200 | 120 x 140 in | 1,350 lb |
| 5250000N40 (low profile, XLPE) | 5,600 | 142 x 102 in | 1,150 lb |
The 7430000C37 is the same shell and fitting with 200 pounds more resin, and the WV90 is the water tank in this shell with a 2 inch outlet. The 7140300N40, 7000000C34 and C37-BLACK stand the same 6,000 gallons on a 120 inch base at 145 and 132 inches, for a site with floor and less height, the 8220000C34 holds 6,200 there, and the 5250000N40 lays 5,600 gallons of cross-linked resin down to 102 inches on a 142 inch base.

Bulkheads and lid
- Outlet: 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, installed; thread in a valve, run a flexible connector and an expansion joint to hard pipe, and support the valve off the slab. Three inches feeds a fire pump or a transfer pump without starving it.
- Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway, 188 inches up; filled by truck through a dip tube, vented outside on anything that fumes, and size the vent for a tanker's unload rate.
- Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.
Polypropylene is the fitting for water, brine and most treatment chemicals; check the liquid at its concentration against the fitting as well as the wall before the first fill. On a tank this tall nobody reads a level by eye; fit a sender read at ground level, and fit a low-level float switch so a pump never runs dry. Keep the manway closed against vapor loss, and keep the tank out of direct sun where the liquid is light-sensitive. If winters freeze, wrap or drain the outlet valve and the first pipe run; the body takes ice from the top down without harm.
The tanker unload
The truck's pump outruns the manway vent, so size the vent for the unload rate or give the fill its own top bulkhead and vent line. The fill pipe runs to the floor so the liquid does not free-fall and foam; on a shell this tall that is a long drop. Nobody walks away during the first fill: the slab edge and the outlet fitting are checked as the level climbs, and every delivery after that goes in the log with a date and a strength.
Day-to-day duty
Well storage for a community system with height and a small pad, coagulant and brine delivered by tanker with a reserve, a rain cistern under a large roof, and a fire reserve of the kind the fire-water reservoir design guide describes, where the 3 inch outlet feeds the pump and the height gives it a flooded suction. Several of them are the storage stage of a reuse system for roof water and condensate, per the industrial water reuse tank topology article. One liquid per tank, labeled.
From the plant to your site
At 102 inches across and 188 inches long on the deck the 7430000C26 is oversize freight (NMFC 156600) on a flatbed at a lane rate; the freight cost estimator prices the move to your ZIP, and the price on this page is before freight. A crane sets 1,450 pounds upright on the slab; a forklift can take it off the deck, not raise it. Fill it to the manway once, hold it, and check the fitting for a weep before the pump goes on. A strap that is checked once a season is a strap that holds; put it on the same calendar as the gutters.
