Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the side wall, with a 2 inch reducer in it. Out of the box you connect 2 inch; take the reducer out and you have the full 3 inch port for a bigger valve or a faster drain. Decide which before you buy the valve. Support the valve and the first length of pipe so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top, 182 inches up. It is the fill point, the vent and the inspection opening, and on a tank this tall you reach it from a ladder or a platform, so put the tank where that is safe to do.
