A 100 gallon black loaf tank that fits through a door and across a truck bed
The Norwesco 100 gallon portable loaf utility tank, part number 45345, is a black polyethylene tank 48 inches long, 20 inches wide and 32 inches tall, weighing 46 lb empty. A loaf tank is a flat bottomed, upright rectangle: 20 inches wide is narrow enough to go through a standard doorway and to sit against the front wall of a pickup bed or along the side of a trailer without taking the whole deck. It comes with no fittings, so you drill and fit the outlet where your job needs it, and it has an 8 inch lid on top. Where it goes
This is the tank for a water supply in a pickup bed under a tonneau, a fresh or grey water tank in a trailer or a work van, a basement or utility room tank that has to get through the door, or secondary containment under a drum. At 48 by 20 inches it sits across the front of a full size pickup bed, and at 32 inches tall it clears most bed rails. Full of water the contents alone weigh close to 830 lb, so a vehicle's payload rating and the floor it stands on indoors both need to carry that. Strap it across the body where it rides on a vehicle, never over the lid, and give it a flat, continuous surface under the whole base. What goes in it
Water is the usual load, with liquid fertilizer, soap and rinse solutions and the common treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles behind it. Openings and fittings
- Lid. An 8 inch lid on top is the only opening as shipped: big enough to fill from a hose or a pump and to get a hand inside to clean. Norwesco's drawing, linked on this page, shows the lid type and position; call us if you need to know before you order whether it vents.
- Outlet. None is fitted. If you want one, a bulkhead fitting goes through a flat area of wall at least as wide as its flange so the gasket seals all the way round, low on the long side for a drain or on the end wall for a pump. Tell us the connection you are making and we will put the right fitting on the same order.
- Inlet. None is fitted. Fill through the lid.
