A 10000 gallon heavy duty 15 degree cone bottom tank for liquids up to 1.9 specific gravity
The Norwesco 10000 gallon 15 degree HDPE vertical cone bottom tank, part number 44461, is a blue high density linear polyethylene tank 142 inches in diameter and 173 inches tall, weighing 2200 lb empty. It is the heavy duty version: Norwesco rates it for liquids up to 1.9 specific gravity, which is 15.87 lb per gallon, so it carries the dense treatment chemicals and heavy fertilizer solutions a standard tank cannot; 10000 gallons of water alone weighs 83400 lb. The shallow 15 degree cone gives full drain without the height of a steeper cone. It comes with a 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the outlet and a 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. The resin is FDA compliant per Norwesco, the service limit is 120 F, and Norwesco backs the tank with a 5 year warranty. The tank requires a stand, Norwesco part N-64113, sold separately.

The stand, the pad and the angle
A cone bottom tank cannot stand on its own. This one goes in Norwesco's stand N-64113, which carries the cone and lifts the outlet for a valve and a pump inlet; order it with the tank. Full of a 1.9 specific gravity liquid the assembly is close to eighty tons on a 142 inch circle, so it sits on an engineered concrete pad with no joint or drain under the stand, and the pad design is your engineer's, not this page's. What goes in it
The dense liquids: ferric and aluminum coagulants, acids, caustics and concentrated fertilizer solutions, as well as water. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the bottom of the cone. Your valve threads straight in; fit it before the first fill and support the valve and the first length of pipe on their own so the cone carries liquid, not hardware. If you need a different outlet size or material for the liquid, ask before the tank ships.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top for fill, vent, level sensor and inspection.

It ships as OVS freight from Norwesco's Fairfield, Texas or St. Bonifacius, Minnesota plant, whichever is nearer, at 173 by 142 by 142 inches and 2208 lb, and the stand travels with it when both are on one order. Unloading needs a crane or a large forklift with straps, so have that booked for the delivery window. Set the stand first and check it with a level across both diagonals, then seat the tank and turn it so the outlet points where the pipe runs. At the tailgate, check 44461 against the bill of lading, look at the cone tip and the fitting for transit damage, and fill with water the first time before it carries anything else.
