Where this tank goes
Ten thousand gallons in a cone bottom is a plant tank: fertilizer terminals and large dealers, water and wastewater chemical storage, food and process plants that batch and need the vessel empty between runs. It shares its 141 inch diameter and its stand with the 7500 gallon tank in the same line, so the extra capacity comes from height, 190 inches of it before the stand goes underneath. What goes in it
Water, liquid fertilizer and the industrial and treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles. The 1.5 rating means a liquid up to 1.5 times the weight of water, 12.52 lb per gallon. Openings, fittings and the stand
- Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the point of the cone. Thread the valve in before the tank is set, and support the pipe run on its own so the fitting carries liquid and not the weight of a valve and hose.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. At this height, plan a fixed fill line and a level gauge so routine fills never need a climb to the manway.
