Where a 30 degree cone earns its height

A cone bottom is bought for one reason: everything comes out. Slurries, settled solids and blends that separate all drain to the single low point. The 30 degree cone is the middle of Norwesco's three angles. It drains faster and cleaner than a 15 degree cone and stands shorter than a 45 degree one, which at 10000 gallons is the difference between fitting under a building's roof or not. Openings, fittings and what to check before you buy

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the point of the cone. Your valve threads straight into it. On a tank this size a 2 inch drain is slow for full transfers; tell us how you will empty it and we talk through the options before the order ships.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. The vent is part of the lid, and it has to stay clear: a 10000 gallon tank being drained through a 2 inch port pulls air in as fast as liquid leaves, and a tank being filled has to push the same volume of air out. Never let anyone cap it.

4. Height. The tank alone is 190 inches tall. Add the stand and the clearance you need to open the manway before you commit to a building or a roofline.

This tank is an oversize load: 190 by 141 by 141 inches and 2356 lb, shipped on a flatbed from Norwesco's Fairfield, Texas or St. Bonifacius, Minnesota plant, whichever is nearer to you. The listed price is before freight; the freight cost estimator gives the lane cost to your ZIP. Plan a crane or a large forklift with straps to unload it. Set the stand level across both diagonals before the tank arrives, set the tank, fit the outlet valve, and fill with water the first time so any problem shows up with something harmless inside. Check the part number against 44105 on the bill of lading before the driver leaves.
