Norwesco 10000 Gallon Black Heavy Duty Vertical Storage Tank

Where it goes

A 10000 gallon vertical is bulk storage at a fertilizer plant, a water treatment works, a food processor, a rainwater or reuse system, or a fire reserve on a site without hydrants. It stands on a pad, and the pad is the first thing to get right: a flat, continuous, level surface the full 141 inches across, with nothing under the base but concrete or compacted fines, because the base carries up to 158460 lb spread over the whole footprint. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting low in the side wall, with a 2 inch reducer, so you can run 3 inch pipe for fast transfer or 2 inch off the reducer. Put a valve directly on the fitting, support the pipe on its own within the first few feet, and use a flexible connection between the tank and rigid pipe, because a full polyethylene tank grows a little and a rigid line fights it.
2. Manway. A 22 inch threaded vented manway on top, large enough to fill through, to drop a level sensor or a suction line in, and to get a person's arm and a brush inside to clean. The vent lets air in and out as the level moves; do not seal it or paint over it.
3. The liquid. Polyethylene handles water, most fertilizers and many common chemicals. Confirm the specific liquid against the material and its specific gravity against 1.9 before you order; for anything that gives off vapour, ask us about the vent and the fittings.

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from the nearest of Norwesco's plants in Fairfield, Texas, Hanford, California, St. Bonifacius, Minnesota, or Washington Court House, Ohio; at 141 inches across and 160 inches tall it travels on a flatbed and needs a loader, a crane or several people and a plan at the site to stand it on the pad. At delivery, check the part number against 43130B on the bill of lading, walk round the whole wall and look at the base for transit damage, and fill it with water the first time so any problem shows up with something harmless inside.
