Where it goes

This is the tank for hauling water to a stock tank, a garden or a job site, for a spray rig on a small trailer, and for a water supply on a truck that still has to carry tools in the same bed. At 36 inches wide it drops between the wheel wells of most full size pickups; measure yours, because that gap is the one dimension that decides the whole purchase. Full of water the load is about 1300 lb with the tank, which is inside the payload of most half ton trucks but leaves little for anything else, so check the payload plate on the door jamb. Strap it down through the moulded recesses, never over the lid, and retighten after the first few miles. What goes in it

Water, liquid fertilizer and the farm and treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles are the normal loads; check anything unusual against our chemical compatibility guide before it goes in. Liquids heavier than 1.5 times water, which is 12.52 lb per gallon, need a heavy duty tank, not this one, and the contents stay under 120 F. Norwesco's resin status letter and certificate documents are on file; tell us what the job requires and we will send what applies to this tank. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 1 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed. A 1 inch outlet is right for a garden hose, a small transfer pump or a spray rig; it is slow for gravity draining a full tank, so if you plan to drain by gravity into a stock tank, budget the time or plan on a pump.
2. Fill lid. An 8 inch threaded vented lid on top, wide enough to fill from a hydrant hose or a pump and to get a hand inside to clean. The vent lets air in as the pump draws liquid out; keep the lid on while you drive.
