The mistake to avoid

The single most common error on a cone-bottom chemical tank is trusting a generic "polyethylene is fine" answer. Two things sink that: the resin question (HDLPE vs XLPE) and the fitting/gasket mismatch. The acids above demand Viton or CPVC hardware, not the EPDM that ships on water tanks. Just as important, DEF and peracetic acid need 316SS metallic fittings, and urea, propylene glycol, and zinc orthophosphate call for PP or 316SS rather than the PVC that suits the acids. Verify resin, concentration, temperature, and hardware together before you fill.
