Match your fittings and gaskets to the chemical. Most of these call for PVC fittings with EPDM gaskets (Aluminum Sulfate, Calcium Chloride, Ferrous Sulfate, Magnesium Chloride, Sodium Carbonate, and Ozonated Water all run this default recipe); Acetic Acid and Urea Solution also accept PP fittings with EPDM; and DEF requires 316 stainless steel fittings with EPDM gaskets. When you need a higher-SG tank instead

Several common chemicals exceed what a 1.5 SG tank should hold and require a 1.9 specific-gravity build instead. Gasket choice matters here: Hydrochloric Acid, Hydrofluoric Acid, Hydrofluosilicic Acid, Hydrogen Peroxide, Sodium Hypochlorite, Phosphoric Acid, and Sulfuric Acid all call for Viton instead of EPDM, Peracetic Acid is the most aggressive recipe in the set at Aflas gasket with 316 stainless steel fittings, and Sulfuric Acid specifically requires CPVC fittings.
