The Norwesco 1500 gallon 45 degree cone bottom tank, part number 43854, is a natural white polyethylene tank 72 inches in diameter and 112 inches tall, weighing 332 lb empty. It is the largest tank on Norwesco's 72 inch, 45 degree cone: a steep cone that empties fast and completely and carries settled solids out with the liquid. It comes with a 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the point of the cone and a 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. The rating is 1.5 specific gravity, 12.52 lb per gallon. Norwesco states the resin is FDA compliant, the service limit is 120 F, and the warranty is 3 years. It needs Norwesco's stand, part number 63934, sold separately.

Why a steep cone, and what it costs you
A 45 degree cone is for batching: fertilizer blending, polymer and treatment chemical make-up, brine, and any process where the next batch cannot sit on the last one or where solids settle and have to leave with the liquid. The price is height. This tank is 112 inches tall before the stand goes under it, so it belongs in a high bay or on an outdoor pad; measure the ceiling, the door and the route in before you commit. What goes in it
Water, liquid fertilizer, brine and the common chemicals polyethylene handles, up to 1.5 times the weight of water and under 120 F. For heavier liquids Norwesco makes 1.9 rated heavy duty cones such as the 1600 gallon light blue heavy duty cone bottom tank. Openings, fittings and the stand
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the point of the cone. On a tank this tall the head pressure at the outlet is real; fit the valve before the tank is seated and support the first length of pipe on its own so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. On a 112 inch tank you reach it from a platform or a ladder, so plan the fill and the level sender so nobody climbs for routine work.
- Stand. Norwesco's stand 63934 is made for this cone. Its height sets the clearance under the outlet; measure the valve, pump or drum before the order.
