A 1020 gallon 15 degree cone bottom tank that stays under five feet
The Norwesco 1020 gallon 15 degree cone bottom tank, part number 44341, is a white polyethylene tank 91 inches in diameter and 53 inches tall, weighing 204 lb empty. The 15 degree cone is the shallowest Norwesco makes: the tank is wide and low, so a thousand gallons with a draining bottom goes under a ceiling that would stop any steeper cone. It comes with a 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the point of the cone and a 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. The rating is 1.5 specific gravity, 12.52 lb per gallon. Norwesco states the resin is FDA compliant, the service limit is 120 F, and the warranty is 3 years. It needs Norwesco's stand, part number 64090, sold separately. Where a 15 degree cone belongs
A shallow cone drains a free flowing liquid completely and gives you a low tank with a big footprint; it moves slowly on thick liquids and does not clear settled solids the way a steep cone does. That makes it the tank for fertilizer and brine storage under a mezzanine or a low roof, and for any job where height is the constraint and the liquid flows freely. What goes in it
Water, liquid fertilizer and the common chemicals polyethylene handles, up to 1.5 times the weight of water and under 120 F. Check the liquid in the chemical compatibility guide first; urea solution, calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, sodium carbonate and sulfuric acid are the entries buyers of this size ask about. Openings, fittings and the stand
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the point of the cone. Fit the valve before the tank goes into the stand.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top: fill, float, mixer bracket, and room for a hand and a brush.
- Stand. Norwesco's stand 64090 is made for the 91 inch, 15 degree family. Its height sets what fits under the outlet; measure the valve, pump or drum before you order.
- Floor. A 91 inch circle, flat, level and continuous, with no drain or joint under the stand feet.
