Water or spray mix in a pickup bed, a nurse tank on a small sprayer, a supply tank in a rack on a utility vehicle, and a fixed tank in a shop or a barn where a round tank on blocks is simpler than a tank with legs. At 31 inches across and 61 inches long it fits across most full size pickup beds and along most compact ones; measure between the wheel wells before you order. Because it is round, it has to be cradled: the cradle takes the weight along the length of the tank, not at two points, and the straps go over the tank and down to the cradle or the bed. What to check before you buy
- The cradle. Not included. A cradle or saddle shaped to a 31 inch diameter, supporting the tank along most of its 61 inch length, with no sharp edges against the wall. Timber saddles cut to the radius work; two loose blocks under a full tank do not.
- The lid. One 8 inch lid on top for filling and venting. It is not a manway; clean the tank through the lid with a wand.
- The outlet. No outlet fitting is listed on this tank. Tell us where you want the drain and what size, and we confirm what ships on the tank and what to add before it leaves the plant.
- The liquid. Polyethylene handles water, most fertilizers and many common chemicals. Heavier than 1.5 times water, or hotter than 120 F, needs a different tank.
- Tie-down. Two straps over the body, pulling down into the cradle, with the lid clear. A round tank with a loose strap rolls; check the straps after the first mile with a load.
