Where a tall, narrow tank wins

Pick 47849 when floor is the thing you are short of: a chemical feed room at a water plant, the corner of a mix shed, a line of tanks against a wall, or a fenced pad between two buildings. It takes less than a third of the floor of a wide 2000 gallon tank and gives the height back in exchange, so it needs a ceiling or sky well above thirteen feet and a ladder or a platform to reach the manway. A tall narrow tank is also more sensitive to a pad that is not level and to wind if it sits outdoors empty, so set it on a flat, continuous slab and consider tie-downs on an exposed site. What goes in it

Liquid fertilizers, brines, many acids and bases, and water. The 1.9 rating is about weight, not chemistry, so check the liquid in our chemical compatibility guide before it goes in, and keep the contents under 120 F; polyethylene softens as it warms and the rating assumes that ceiling. If the liquid is plain water, the standard duty 2000 gallon tanks do the same job with a 3 year warranty. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the wall. Your valve, camlock or hose adapter threads straight into it. Support the valve and the first length of pipe on their own and use a flexible connector before any rigid run.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top, reached from a ladder or a platform. The vent lets air move as the level changes; never plug it.
3. Inlet. No separate inlet fitting is installed. Tell us before the order ships if you want a fill fitting at a set height.
