The Norwesco 2100 gallon black vertical storage tank, part number 42118, is a polyethylene tank 102 inches in diameter and 69 inches tall, weighing 304 lb empty. Where a low, wide tank earns its place
Most 2100 gallon vertical tanks stand taller than this one. Pick 42118 when the height is fixed and the floor is not: a barn bay under a loft, a lean-to, a shipping container, a basement, a greenhouse bench line, or anywhere a taller tank would hit a beam or block a doorway. At 69 inches the manway opens at head height, so you fill, inspect and drop a float in without a ladder. The trade is floor: a circle eight and a half feet across needs more pad than a narrow tank, and it needs that pad flat and continuous, because a squat tank loads its base evenly and has little height to forgive a tilt. What goes in it
Water, rainwater, liquid fertilizer and the common farm and treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles are the normal loads. At 1.5 specific gravity the tank carries liquids up to one and a half times the weight of water, so the heaviest full load is 26271 lb. Liquids heavier than that need the heavy duty version of this size, not this tank. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the wall. Your valve, camlock or hose adapter threads straight into it. Support the valve and the first length of pipe on their own so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top: wide enough to fill from a hose or a pump, drop a float in, and get a hand and a brush inside to clean. The vent lets air in and out as the level changes; never plug it.
- Inlet. No separate inlet fitting is installed. Most buyers fill through the manway or have us confirm a fitting position before the tank ships.
