The Norwesco 225 gallon black horizontal leg tank, part number 40678, is a polyethylene transport and storage tank 49 inches long, 38 inches wide and 41 inches tall, weighing 72 lb empty. In a pickup, on a trailer or on the ground
At 49 by 38 inches this tank sits in a short bed pickup with the tailgate closed, and at 41 inches tall it rides below the cab roof. Full, it is close to 1900 lb of water, which is most of a half ton truck's payload, so the truck decides the fill level on a road, not the tank. What goes in it
Water, liquid fertilizer and the common farm and treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles, up to 1.5 times the weight of water and 120 F. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the end wall. Your valve, camlock or hose adapter threads straight in. Support the valve and the first length of hose so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Lid. An 8 inch threaded vented lid on top: enough to fill from a hose and to drop a strainer or a float in, vented so the tank breathes as the pump draws. For a hand and a brush inside you want the larger tanks with a full manway.
