Norwesco 235 Gallon Plastic Horizontal Elliptical Leg Tank in White

On a trailer, a flatbed or a skid

At 32 inches tall this tank fits where a round leg tank of the same capacity will not: under a tonneau rail, on a low utility trailer, or on a skid that has to go through a barn door. The 66 by 40 inch footprint fits across a full size pickup bed and along most single axle trailers; measure the bed between the wheel wells before you order. Full, the tank weighs close to a ton with water and more with fertilizer, so the vehicle's payload rating, not the tank, is usually the limit. The moulded legs want a flat, continuous surface under all of them; strap the tank through the leg recesses and never over the lid. What goes in it

Water, liquid fertilizer and the common farm and treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles are the normal loads. Before anything else goes in, check the liquid in our chemical compatibility guide; the entries for urea solution, DEF, calcium chloride, sodium hypochlorite and magnesium chloride are the ones leg tank buyers ask about most. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting with a siphon tube, factory installed. The siphon tube reaches down into the body so the tank draws from near the floor even though the fitting sits higher on the end wall; that is what lets a low elliptical tank drain almost empty. Your valve, camlock or hose adapter threads straight into the fitting. Support the valve and the first length of hose so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
2. Lid. An 8 inch threaded vented lid on top: wide enough to fill from a hose and to drop a float or a suction line through. The vent lets air in as the pump draws down, so leave it clear.
