Where a cone bottom tank earns its keep
Buy a cone bottom when the liquid leaves solids behind or when every gallon has to come out. Fertilizer blending, settling and decanting, brine and additive make-up, batch mixing with a mixer on the manway, and clean-in-place processes where a flat bottom would hold a heel of product all suit this shape. What goes in it
Water, liquid fertilizer and the industrial and treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles are the normal loads. Openings, fittings and the stand
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the point of the cone. Your valve threads straight into it. Fit the valve before the tank goes in the stand and support the pipe run on its own so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top, large enough to fill from a hose, mount a small mixer or get a hand and a brush inside.
- Stand. Stand N-64076 is required and sold separately. The cone sits in the stand and the stand carries the whole load, so order both at once and tell us the site; we put them on one order.
