Who buys the heavy duty 7800

A 7800 gallon heavy duty is a dealer and plant size: an ag retailer's liquid fertilizer storage, a chemical distributor, a water or wastewater plant storing treatment chemicals, or a large farm with UAN or calcium chloride on site. For plain water or rainwater, a standard duty tank of this size does the same job with a thinner wall and a 3 year warranty. The tank is just under ten feet across and a little under fifteen feet tall, so it lives outdoors or in a tall building, with a fixed ladder or a platform to reach the manway. Full of water it puts about 33 tons on the pad, and nearly twice that with a liquid at 1.9, so the slab is engineered, not poured by eye. What goes in it

Liquid fertilizers, brines, many acids and bases, and water. The 1.9 rating is about weight, not chemistry: check the liquid in our chemical compatibility guide before it goes in, and keep the contents under 120 F; polyethylene softens as it warms and the rating assumes that ceiling. If the liquid is not on the list, tell us what it is and we will check with Norwesco. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting with a 2 inch reducer, factory installed low in the wall. Run 3 inch for fast loading into a nurse tank or a transport, or leave the reducer in and plumb 2 inch. Put a flexible connector between the tank and rigid pipe; a tank this size settles slightly as it fills and a rigid line levers on the fitting.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. The vent lets air move as the level changes; a pump pulling against a plugged vent can collapse a wall.
3. Inlet. No separate inlet is installed. Tell us before the order ships if you want a fill fitting at a set height.

You need a forklift or a loader with straps and room to stand it up; plan the unloading before the truck is booked.
