Where it goes
A black 7800 gallon tank is most often a water tank: rainwater storage for a farm or a nursery, an irrigation reserve, a fire water supply at a property without a hydrant, or potable storage where the resin status matters. It is also a season's liquid fertilizer at a smaller dealer. At 176 inches tall it needs a clear height to match and room for a crane to stand it up, so measure the site before the tank, not after. What goes in it
Water and liquid fertilizer are the normal loads, and the common farm and treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles. Liquids heavier than 1.5 times water need the heavy duty version of this tank, not this one. Keep the contents under 120 F. If you are unsure about a chemical, tell us the name and the concentration before you order.
Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting low in the side wall, with a 2 inch reducer in the box. Keep 3 inch to feed a pump or fill a sprayer fast; reduce to 2 inch where the valve and pipe are already that size. Support the valve and the first length of pipe on their own so the wall carries liquid, not hardware.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. It is the fill point, the vent and the inspection opening; keep it threaded down so the tank breathes through the vent.
- Extra fittings. A second outlet, a float valve port or a side fill fitting can be added before it ships; tell us when you order.
