The Norwesco 7800 gallon light blue heavy duty vertical liquid storage tank, part number 40665, is a flat bottom polyethylene tank 119 inches in diameter and 176 inches tall, weighing 1726 lb empty. It is the heavy duty version of Norwesco's 7800 gallon tank, built for liquids up to 1.9 specific gravity: 7800 gallons of water weighs 65052 lb, and at the full 1.9 rating the contents can reach 123599 lb. It comes with a 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the base, supplied with a 2 inch reducer, and a 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. What goes in it
Water, liquid fertilizer and the treatment and process chemicals that polyethylene handles. The 1.9 rating is why you buy this tank instead of the standard one: dense blends, brines and the heavier treatment chemicals are inside its rating. Keep the contents under 120 F. If you are not sure a chemical belongs in polyethylene, tell us the name and the concentration before you order.
Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting low in the side wall, with a 2 inch reducer in the box. Keep 3 inch for pump suction or a fast gravity fill of a sprayer; reduce to 2 inch where the plumbing already is. Support the valve and the first length of pipe on their own so the wall carries liquid, not hardware.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top: fill point, vent and inspection opening. Keep it threaded down so the tank breathes through the vent.
- Extra fittings. A second outlet, a sight gauge port or a side fill fitting can go on the same order; tell us before it ships.
