Measure the ceiling and the door, in that order

At 55 inches the top of the shell is at chest height, so the manway opens from the ground, the tank fits under a mezzanine or a pipe rack, and it rides on a truck bed without a height permit. The price of that is floor: an 86 inch circle will not tuck into a corner the way a narrow shell does, so walk the route from the dock to the pad with a tape before the order is placed.

The heavy duty rating lets it hold a dense liquid: a brine, a concentrate, a dense fertilizer solution. This is the plain polyethylene wall with a 120 F limit; a hot liquid or an aggressive chemical belongs in the crosslinked version of this shell, so settle the wall with us before the order and check the liquid in the chemical compatibility guide. What to check before you buy

1. The pad. A rotomoulded tank bears on its whole floor, so 9,174 lb of water, or 17,431 lb at the rating, spreads across the full 86 inch circle and every part of that circle has to support it. Pour to our concrete pad sizing guide, level and in full contact, inside a berm sized to the tank where the liquid is regulated.
2. Restraint. At 210 lb empty it will walk across a slab in a gust, so band it the day it lands.
3. The outlet. This tank carries an Outlet entry of "9" with no unit, material or thread beside it, and we do not read that as a pipe size. Tell us the liquid and the draw-off you want and we will confirm the fitting, its size and material before anything is cut. Snyder's drawing is linked under Technical Drawing.
4. Fill and vent. Land the fill on a permanent connection at the manway rather than a hose over the rim, run a dip tube to the floor, and size the vent to the delivery pump.
5. The level. Black hides it, so a sender is the gauge.

A shell this short gives very little liquid head, so a transfer pump goes below the outlet where gravity primes it, with a low-level float. Anything plumbed at the base sits on its own support with a flexible connector to hard pipe.

The same footprint in other part numbers, and the upright alternatives

Snyder sells this 86 by 55 inch footprint under more than one part number. The 1,100 gallon black heavy duty XLPE tank, 1710000N48 is the crosslinked wall at this rating, from a different plant and at a lower listed weight; the 1,100 gallon black heavy duty tank, 1710000C34 and the 1,100 gallon heavy duty tank, 1710000C26 are the other walls in that family. The 1,000 gallon black heavy duty vertical tank and the 1,200 gallon XLPE vertical tank are the other way to hold this much liquid, on a narrow base with a high roof.

Shipping and receiving

The tank ships LTL at freight class 400 from Snyder's Marked Tree, AR plant, 86 by 86 by 55 inches at 210 lb. The class follows the footprint, not the weight.
