The Snyder Industries 1100 Gallon Black Heavy Duty Vertical Storage Tank is a polyethylene vertical storage tank built for serious bulk water and high-density liquid duty. It stands 90 inches tall on a 64 x 64 inch footprint and carries a 1.9 specific gravity rating, the number that separates a heavy-duty tank like this one from a standard water tank. Full of plain water it holds roughly 9,174 pounds of contents; at its maximum rated content load it is engineered to carry up to 17,431 pounds. The black exterior blocks sunlight, which slows algae growth in stored water and shields the resin from UV degradation over long outdoor service.

Will it work for your site?

This is a 1,100 gallon vertical tank standing 90 inches tall on a 64 x 64 inch footprint. Put those numbers against your pad and clearances before you order: the 64 x 64 inch footprint sets the concrete pad size, and the 90 inch height sets your fill and vent access. The 1.9 specific gravity rating is why you would choose this over a standard 1.0 to 1.5 SG water tank in the same footprint class. That higher rating means the wall is built to carry liquids substantially denser than water, so the tank has real headroom for heavy-duty water storage, fire reserve, and dense bulk liquids up to that 1.9 SG ceiling that a standard tank simply cannot hold. To confirm the right capacity for your draw-down and refill cycle, run your numbers through the Tank Sizing Calculator or read the Tank Sizing Guide before you commit to a size.

Plan the pad and the load

A full tank of this size is a heavy, concentrated load. With water alone you are placing more than nine thousand pounds on the footprint, and a denser liquid pushes that figure toward the 17,431 pound maximum. That weight has to land on a flat, level, fully supporting base sized to the 64 x 64 inch footprint. For pad design, our guide on concrete pad sizing for above-ground polyethylene tanks walks through the ACI framework. If this tank is going into a rural fire-water reserve, the fire-water reservoir tank design guide covers NFPA 22 sizing and cold-climate freeze protection.

The mistake to avoid

Do not read the 1.9 specific gravity rating as permission to store any chemical. The rating tells you the wall can carry the weight of a liquid up to 1.9 times the density of water; it does not certify chemical resistance for a given product. Fitting sizes and locations are not listed on this spec line, so read the fill, outlet, and vent layout off the technical drawing on this page, or call to confirm, before you plan plumbing. When you match a denser or chemical liquid to a resin chemical-resistance chart, check the gasket and seal material at each fitting against that liquid too, not just the polyethylene wall. This is a black tank, well suited to opaque water storage, grey-water and rainwater reuse trains, and process water; if you are aggregating grey, rain, or condensate, the industrial water reuse tank topology guide covers quality-banded storage. The second mistake is undersizing the base for the loaded weight, which is why the pad planning above matters as much as the capacity. For sites that require secondary containment for a dense or regulated liquid, the Snyder Captor double-wall freeboard guide walks through containment sizing, though this tank itself is single-wall.
