The Snyder Industries 11500 Gallon 30 Degree HDPE Cone Bottom Tank is a Lincoln, Nebraska-built polyethylene cone tank engineered for full-drain chemical processing and bulk storage. Standing 214.5" tall on a 142" x 142" footprint, it carries a 1.9 specific gravity rating - which is the top of the polyethylene range, so this tank already covers the densest chemistries on the compatibility list below with no heavier-rated upgrade needed. The 30 degree cone bottom delivers near-complete gravity drainage, emptying product without manual scraping or a residual heel. Before you commit, run the load and footprint math through the Tank Sizing Calculator and review the Tank Sizing Guide.

Will this cone tank work for your job?

This is a true 30 degree cone bottom tank, not a flat-bottom drum, so it requires a steel stand or structural support ring to hold the full cone clearance - and that stand is not included in the tank price, so budget for it separately. Size it to the loaded figure, not the water figure: filled with water this tank weighs 95,910 lb, but at its maximum rated 1.9 SG contents it carries 182,229 lb. That is roughly 90,000 lb heavier than a water test, so a successful hydro test can mislead you into an undersized foundation. Rate your slab, support ring, and stand to the 182,229 lb number. Factory fittings include an 18" PE threaded/vented fitting, a flange, a 12" x 13" fitting, and a manway with 15" access for inspection and cleanout - see the technical drawing on this page for exact placements and orientations.

Chemical compatibility

This tank is molded from polyethylene resin with a 1.9 specific gravity rating. The resin record reads "HDLPE?" - confirm whether your unit is HDLPE or XLPE (cross-linked) with us at 866-418-1777 before placing it in chemical service, because resin type changes which chemistries are safe. The compatibility below is drawn from the OEM chemical-resistance chart and is concentration- and temperature-specific; verify your exact concentration and service temperature against that chart. Fitting and gasket materials are listed per chemical because the tank wall is only half of a sealed system - the wrong elastomer or fitting fails long before the polyethylene does.

Watch the high-risk material call-outs: Sulfuric Acid at 98% needs CPVC fittings - not standard PVC - and Peracetic Acid requires Aflas gaskets, not Viton or EPDM. Both are easy, expensive mistakes. Sodium hypochlorite, hydrochloric acid, and phosphoric acid all call for Viton gaskets rather than EPDM. The wrong elastomer or fitting material is the most common and costly error on a chemical cone tank this size, so match every penetration to the chart. For the full database and to cross-check your concentration, see the Chemical Compatibility Database.

Freight and ordering

This 11500 gallon cone bottom tank ships LTL freight from the Snyder plant in Lincoln, NE, quoted live to your ZIP - get your number from the Freight Cost Estimator or call 866-418-1777. At this size, freight is a permit-load conversation, so confirm site access and offload equipment early. New to cone geometry or weighing cone angles for your process, our cone bottom angle selection guide walks through 15 vs 30 vs 45 degree, and if secondary containment is on the table, see our Snyder Captor 110% containment vs UL-142 SPCC comparison.
