Where this tank earns its keep

A white 150 in a crosslinked wall is the tank for a job somebody watches: a metered chemical feed at a small water system, a sanitiser or detergent makeup station in a food or dairy plant, a nutrient tank in a greenhouse where the grower checks the level daily, a laboratory or pilot plant vessel, a shop reservoir for a cleaning solution. The numbers are unforgiving of a lazy install: full, the whole load bears on a 30 inch circle. Level and in full contact is the standard on an existing slab; a new pad follows the concrete pad sizing guide, with containment sized to the tank wherever the liquid is regulated. Empty, 55 lb standing 59 inches on a narrow base is light enough for a door gust or a passing pallet to put over, so strap or bracket it on day one. Openings and what to confirm before you buy

1. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on a tank whose footprint is 30 inches, so most of the top is lid, 59 inches up and reachable from the floor. The lid and its gasket are most of what stands between the liquid and the weather, so look at them rather than assume.
2. Outlet. The manway is the only opening listed for this tank. Tell us the liquid and the draw-off you want when you order and we will confirm what can be fitted before anything is cut.
3. Vent and fill. Run a dip tube through the opening to the floor so the stream does not free-fall and foam; pipe the vent outdoors on anything that fumes and size it to the pump that fills the tank.
4. Headspace. Take it off the liftgate with hands under the base, never by the manway rim. Check the part number against 1012800N42 on the bill of lading and look at the base edge, the threads and the vent while the driver is still there.
