On a tank this tall nobody reads a level by eye; fit a sender read at ground level, and fit a low-level float switch so a pump never runs dry. If winters freeze, wrap or drain the outlet valve and the first pipe run; the body takes ice from the top down without harm.

Taking a tanker load

The driver's pump can deliver faster than the lid vent can breathe, so the vent is sized for the unload rate or the fill goes through a dedicated top bulkhead with its own vent line.
