Openings and instruments

• Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway, 198 inches up; vent outside on caustic and acid service, fill through a dip tube to the floor, and size the vent for a tanker's unload rate.
• Outlet: specify the fitting for the liquid when ordering; a flanged transition, an expansion joint, and a valve supported off the slab, re-checked after the first full fill.

A black wall hides the level, so plan the sender, and a black tank needs a light label panel so the hazard diamond and pictograms read from the door.
