Where 16500 gallons goes

This is the tall end of bulk polyethylene storage. It takes more than a full transport load and gives a plant, a farm co-op or a treatment works days or weeks of supply on one pad. The 1.9 rating covers dense liquids up to 1.9 times the weight of water: brines, heavy fertilizer solutions and bulk treatment chemicals, as well as water. Check that polyethylene suits the liquid in our chemical compatibility guide and tell us the concentration.

Height is the first site check. At 257 inches the top of the tank is above most single storey rooflines, so look up before you look down: power lines, tree limbs, the crane's reach and the swing path all matter. Then plan the slab. Full at the rating, about 261,459 lb bears on a 142 inch base, and a rotomoulded floor bears wherever it touches, so a low spot or a hollow becomes a stress point. A chemical tank this large usually needs secondary containment sized to its volume, so check your rules before you fix the footprint.

Natural white lets you see the liquid line through the wall. It also lets light in, so stored water in sun can grow algae; ask us about a black tank if that matters. Openings, and what to confirm before you buy

1. Manway. One 18 inch threaded vented manway on top. At 257 inches up, plan the fill line, the vent and safe roof access before the tank is set.
2. Outlet and fittings. No outlet fitting is listed with this part number. Tell us the pump rate, the pipe sizes and where each line runs, and we will confirm with Snyder what the tank carries and what to add.
3. Temperature. 120 F is the limit.

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from Lincoln, Nebraska, 142 by 142 by 257 inches at 3,000 lb. It is an oversize load that comes off with a crane, so call us before you order and we will plan the truck, the site route and the lift with you. Never lift by the manway. At the tailgate, check the bill of lading against 5380000C126 and walk the full shell for transit marks. Fill it with water first on the finished pad and watch the base for a day before the working liquid goes in.
