Why buy the 1.5 rated slim tank

Pay for the wall you will use. The 1.9 rated version of this same shell is listed for dense chemistry; this one is lighter and does the same job on any liquid at or near the weight of water. What you are really buying is the footprint: 64 inches of floor where the wider 1900 gallon bodies will not go, at the price of 147 inches of height. Measure the clear height under the lowest obstruction and add room above the manway for a fill line and a person. The manway is far above a step ladder's safe reach, so budget a fixed ladder and a railed platform with the tank. Band the empty shell to structure or slab anchors the day it is set; a narrow, tall tank is the shape wind moves most easily.

What goes in it

Stored water that must stay out of the light, a light dosing solution at a crowded pump house, rinse or process water in a plant with a narrow service alley, a fertilizer solution at a co-op. Anything beyond water goes through our chemical compatibility guide first, and anything heavier than 1.5 times water belongs in the heavy duty version, not this one. Openings, and what to confirm before you buy

1. Manway. 18 inch threaded vented manway on top, 147 inches up. Fill through a dip tube to the floor so the stream does not free-fall and foam the headspace, and keep the lid threaded shut between deliveries.
2. Outlet. This listing carries no outlet size. Tell us the liquid and the pipe size when you order and we confirm what Snyder fits to this shell before it ships. Snyder's drawing is linked under Technical Drawing on this page.
3. Base plumbing. A 147 inch column puts pressure on the bottom connection: carry the first valve on its own support off the pad and use a flexible connector to hard pipe. A pump set below the outlet primes by gravity; add a low-level float.
4. Level. A black wall hides the level. Plan a gauge or sender read at the ground.

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from Snyder's plant in Philippi, WV, at its own 64 by 64 by 147 inch dimensions, lying down on the truck. Stand it with straps under the body, never a hook through the manway, and get the bands on before the lifting gear leaves. Check the part number 8300000N46 against the bill of lading at the tailgate and look over the shell for transit damage before signing. Fill with water first and walk the base before any product goes in.
