The lightest heavy duty 2,000 Snyder makes

At 340 lb empty this is the easiest 2,000 gallon chemical tank to set: two people and a forklift, no crane. It stands just over seven feet tall on a seven and a half foot base, so it goes under a standard roof and the manway is reached from a step. Snyder makes another heavy duty 2,000 on a wider, lower base from California under a different part number but the same name; this one is the eastern and midwestern tank, moulded in Nebraska and West Virginia, so a plant east of the Rockies gets the shorter freight lane with it. The buyer is a small water plant with a ferric or alum day tank, a plating shop with acid, or a food plant with brine. Full of water it weighs 2,000 x 8.34 = 16,680 lb plus the tank, and a liquid at the 1.9 rating almost twice that, on a 90 inch circle. What goes in it

Check the liquid against polyethylene in our chemical compatibility guide before you order and tell us what it is so the outlet fitting is matched to it. White runs cooler in the sun than black but passes some light, so a liquid that breaks down in light belongs in the black version of this tank. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting low in the wall. Seven feet of liquid above it keeps a metering pump at pad level flooded; add a calibration column, a strainer for the scale a dense chemical drops as it cools, and a low level float. Support the valve and the first pipe run off the pad and trace or insulate them where winters freeze; the body ices from the top down without harm.
2. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top, 88 inches up, reached from a step. Fill through a dip tube or a screened manway, pipe the vent outside on anything that fumes, and size the vent for the delivery pump.
3. Freeboard. Fill to the shoulder; a dense liquid grows as it warms and the headspace absorbs it.
