Snyder Industries 1900 Gallon ASTM XLPE Vertical Storage Tank

A tank for a tight footprint and plenty of height

This is the slim way to hold 1,900 gallons: a 64 inch circle on the floor, which fits a corner, a gap between two vessels or a strip beside a wall, and 147 inches of height to pay for it. Above the manway you still need room for a fill line and a vent, so this is a tank for a high bay, a canopy or the open air, not a standard ceiling. Crosslinking ties the polymer chains of the wall together, which gives it more resistance to stress cracking and to many chemicals than a standard linear polyethylene wall, so this is the material to choose when the liquid is harder on plastic than water is. A tall, narrow tank is the one the wind pushes over while it stands empty, so strap it to structure or to anchors in the slab the day it lands and before it is plumbed. A rotationally moulded tank carries its load on the whole floor, so up to 23,769 lb bears on the 64 inch circle; pour the slab to our concrete pad sizing guide, level and in full contact, with a berm where the liquid is regulated. What to check before you buy

1. The liquid. Polyethylene suits water, most liquid fertilizers and many common chemicals, and the crosslinked wall widens that list. The 1.5 rating covers liquids up to one and a half times the weight of water. If yours is heavier, or warmer than 140 F in service, tell us; Snyder makes 1,900 gallons in a heavy duty wall.
2. The outlet. This page lists the manway, not a bottom fitting. Tell us the liquid and the draw-off you want and we will confirm what this tank takes, in what size and material, before anything is drilled.
3. The manway. 18 inch threaded and vented, 147 inches off the pad. That is a fixed ladder and a platform with a rail, not a step ladder. Bring the fill line to the manway so nobody carries a hose up to it, and run the vent to where any fumes should go.

Unload with a forklift and straps under the body, never a sling through the manway, and stand it up on the pad with the straps ready. At the tailgate, check the part number against 8300000N40 on the bill of lading and walk round the base for transit damage. Fill it with water the first time, let it stand, and look at the pad edge and the base fitting before the working liquid goes in.
