The Snyder Industries 1900 Gallon Vertical Storage Tank is molded from ASTM-grade crosslinked linear polyethylene (XLPE) rated to 1.5 specific gravity, the number that matters most when you are matching a tank to a heavier-than-water product. At 147 inches tall on a 64 by 64 inch footprint, it holds 1,900 gallons in a single upright column, and its natural white translucent wall lets you read the fluid level from outside without opening the lid.

Will it work for your site?

Plan your pad and anchoring around real loaded weight, not gallons. Filled with water this vertical tank carries about 15,846 lb, and at its full 1.5 SG rating it can hold up to 23,769 lb of contents, so the concrete pad and any tie-downs have to be sized for that mass. The 64.0 x 64.0 inch footprint keeps the pad small but concentrates the load. If you are still choosing a capacity or working out freeboard for thermal expansion, run the numbers with our Tank Sizing Calculator and the Tank Sizing Guide first, and see our write-up on concrete pad sizing for above-ground polyethylene tanks for the ACI framework.

Fittings and access

The technical drawing on this page shows the outlet and access layout: a flange, an 18-inch polyethylene threaded and vented fitting, a manway with 15-inch access, and a fitting flat molded into the wall for clean bulkhead fitting installation. The 18-inch threaded/vented port is the one to keep clear during operation, because drawing down a 147-inch column fast without an adequate vent path can pull vacuum against the wall. The manway gives 15 inches of clear access, the only interior opening on this tank, so anyone speccing internal inspection or cleaning should confirm 15 inches clears their equipment. Note that a bulkhead fitting and gasket are separate hardware: size them to the molded flat and match the gasket to your fluid and the 1.5 SG service, because the wall rating means nothing if the seal at the flat fails.

The mistake to avoid

The most common miss on a Snyder XLPE storage tank is treating the 1.5 specific-gravity rating as headroom you never verify. XLPE gives you higher-SG capability that a standard water-only tank does not, but you still have to confirm your fluid's actual specific gravity stays within 1.5 across your operating temperature range. If your product runs heavier or needs secondary containment, this tank is the top of the single-wall SG ladder here, not something you fill fuller; step up to a double-wall design, and the Snyder Captor freeboard sizing guide walks through the ASTM D1998 density math for that decision.

This 1,900-gallon XLPE vertical storage tank ships LTL from the single Snyder plant in Philippi, West Virginia, with freight quoted live to your ZIP based on distance and loaded weight. Because it leaves one East-Coast origin, cost scales hard with distance, so West-Coast and remote buyers should pull a number before committing with our Freight Cost Estimator, or call 866-418-1777 to talk through delivery, offload, and pad prep. Whether you are staging bulk water, building a rural fire-water reservoir, or setting up quality-banded reuse storage, this vertical storage tank is built for durable long-term service.
