Why natural white, and why cross-linked

A natural white wall lets light through, so in normal daylight you can see the liquid line from outside. For a feed tank that someone checks every shift, that saves a gauge and saves opening the top. The trade is that light also reaches the liquid: stored water can grow algae over time and some chemicals break down in sunlight. Indoors that rarely matters; outdoors, think about shade or a darker tank.

The wall is cross-linked polyethylene, XLPE. Its polymer chains are bonded together during moulding, which makes it tougher and more resistant to stress cracking than standard polyethylene, and it carries a 140 F service limit here. Together with the 1.9 rating, that makes this the wall for dense liquids and for liquids that run warm. At 36 inches across and 59 inches tall, the tank stays under five feet high on a moderate footprint, so it fits along a wall or inside a containment area and you can see the top without a ladder. 1. The base. Full of a 1.9 liquid it is more than a ton and a half on a 36 inch circle. It needs a flat, level surface that touches the whole bottom; see the concrete pad sizing guide.
2. The openings. No outlet or manway size is listed for this tank on this page. Tell us the connections you need and we will confirm them from Snyder's drawing before it ships.
3. Light. If the liquid is light sensitive or the tank will stand in full sun, ask us about a black wall instead.
